You know the feeling…

You want someone to notice what you’ve done.

You want to be acknowledged.

You want to be appreciated.

You want the approval of a lover, spouse, boss, client, friend or family member.

You laugh off something that is a little racist, not because you agree, but because you don’t want to “rock the boat,” or ruffle any feathers.

Then you feel like sh%t!

The Tao Te Ching, all those years ago, knew exactly what you were going through! The famous text says, “Care about people’s approval and you will be their prisoner.”

That’s what it feels like when we want others to notice, acknowledge and approve of us.

Prison.

It’s time to Liberate Yourself!

The amazing, magical truth is, you are the one who has the keys to that prison.

As soon as you choose yourself. Yes, I just said that. Hold on. We’ll get to the part of you that just screamed, “selfish!”

You have to choose what is truthful to you! No matter what. Otherwise, just close that door on that prison cell, ‘cause that’s where you’ll be headed.

That’s why liberating yourself isn’t selfish. Think about it. If your friend had been captured and put into prison you wouldn’t visit and say, “Just learn to like it. Make the best of it. Where’s your positive attitude” Just do what they tell you to do.”

Hell no!

You’d say, “let’s get the hell out of here! You don’t deserve to be locked up!”
