Why Wanting More Is An Inner Journey

It’s natural to desire to have more. Sometimes we feel guilty about it, as if wanting more is somehow a criticism of what we have now. And we know that “chasing more” doesn’t satisfy us, so what is it with wanting more?

It is what leads us ever onward. Wanting more can give us the motivation to keep on going, to grow to our full potential - to more happiness, more well-being, more fulfillment, and attain self-realization . Wanting more is an Inner journey that gives us the feeling of deep satisfaction, fulfillment and purpose.

In today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser I’m going to dig deep into this Topic and answer the most important question and the name of our today’s episode Why wanting more is an Inner Journey?

Why You Don't Need Fixing!

We get these ideas about not being good enough, or something is wrong with us, otherwise… things would be different.

I am here to say, loud and clear! That is NOT TRUE!

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! And you do not need fixing.

What we all need is fine-tuning, or opening up to a higher version of ourselves that doesn’t have all the personal criticisms and judgments that limit us so much!

In today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser, you’ll get some tools for turning down the volume on that judgmental voice and turning up the volume on that empowering, loving voice that is within you.

Listen to the episode HERE.

In Power and Grace,

Brenda

Tell me if you relate to this?

Regardless of our background and specific life experiences, there are certain things that connect all of us people pleasers!

Not the least of which is the courage to learn how to speak up for ourselves and live authentically!

In today’s inspiring interview with my coach and Rapid Transformation Therapy practitioner, Sobia Durrani, you’ll hear how being a people pleaser was triggered by the pressure of being a first generation American. With parents from Pakistan, who naturally had high expectations, plus feeling like she didn’t belong in the US or in Pakistan, Sobia’s story is compelling and needs to be heard.

We also touch on the issue of “white privilege” and what that means to us.

You’ll be inspired and get tools to use in your own life from this powerful episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser.

As always, I welcome your feedback and questions in the comments!

Who Are You Trying To Be?

All of us people pleasers know what it’s like to try to be someone you aren’t.

We want love.

We want approval.

We try desperately to be who our family, spouse, boss, church, or culture wants us to be.

But it’s so hard!

Because that’s not the truth of who we are.

In today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser I’m unpacking this issue.

Many of my brothers and sisters in the black, indigenous, people of color and LGBTQ+ communities are deeply impacted by this dilemma, where the cost of being authentic can be especially high.

And yet, we are never truly happy unless we are expressing our authentic nature.

This episode begins a theme that I will revisit in future podcasts. The temptation to abandon our authentic self in order to fit in or get the love, approval and acceptance we all crave, is something that must end. For everyone.

This is an open invitation for you to be a guest on the podcast. If you are black, indigenous, a person of color and/or LGBTQ+ I would love to hear your story on this journey from trying to be someone you aren’t, to discovering your authentic expression and then being able to share that out in the world.

You will inspire and encourage others; this I know for sure.

Please email me at Brenda@BrendaFlorida.com and tell me you are ready to explore sharing your story! Someone is out there waiting to hear it.

Is it THAT Simple?

Sometimes things are simple, but not necessarily easy.

Boundaries can be that way for us people pleasers.

We get the concept, usually, but, how to do it… that’s something else all together!

In today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser I’ve got some amazing steps to break down the boundary settling process.

You’re Going To Like This!

Have you ever rebelled?

Sure you have!

I was such a serious people pleaser it took me until I was in my late 30’s to actually do it, but, when I did… I’m just sayin… I was a rebellion expert for about 10 years!

Rebellion can be a gift.

I’m serious!

I needed to rebel to get out of all the thoughts and away from all the people who were keeping me very limited.

I’ll tell you more about it in today’s podcast episode, “Rebellion Is A Gift.”

I hope after you listen to the episode you’ll be able to find the ways your rebellion has served you.

I’d love to hear about it! Let me know in the comments and tell me about it. Better yet, if you rebelled and you can’t see how it served you, share that with me and I’ll help you find the gift.

I can’t wait to hear what you think about this episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser!

When is it ‘Good Enough?”

Do you ever struggle with being a perfectionist? You keep going back to the project you’re working on and making changes, adjustments, re-analyzing if it’s good enough.

I’ve had a huge dose of, “is it good enough?” this week!

You see I’ve been dreaming of creating a podcast for months.

Then I started working on it.

The episodes. The distribution. The website. The logo. The content. All. The. Things.

I decided to push “publish.”

So, here it is, in all its imperfection, Episode 1 of my new podcast, Liberate Your People Pleaser!

No, I don’t love the website, I wish the title on the episode image was at the top, instead of the bottom… but, when you push play… it works! Victory!

What are you working on that you need to “push publish” on? What project, activity, creative endeavor, business venture, career change or even relationship issue is it time to stop striving for perfection and just “publish” it?

Perfectionism is a lie. It does not exist.

It keeps us trapped in, “not good enough.” And, really, isn’t it time to be done with that?

To decide you are “good enough?”

In Episode 1 of Liberate Your People Pleaser, we’re diving into the truth that you don’t need fixing!  You’re exactly as you were uniquely created to be. Listen to the podcast HERE for more and let me know if it resonates.

Back to the “good enough” part… the podcast isn’t on all the typical podcast channels yet, so for now, use the links here. I’ll have an official launch party when it’s up and running on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and other distribution sites.

Naturally, I’d love for you to share the episode with friends, on Facebook and IG! Tag me in your post and I’ll give you a shoutout on a future episode! Here’s a sharable link you can copy and paste: https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-4252h-e5ea81

Let’s liberate our perfectionist and our people pleaser! We are positively good enough exactly as we are!
