Does Coaching Really Work? An Interview w/Meredith Jacks

Working with a coach has become more common than it was a few years ago. From professional athletes to successful business professionals, from mid-life moms to college graduates, the reasons for working with a coach are as varied as the individuals.

But, no matter how you look at it, life throws a lot of challenges at us! With so much pressure and so many obligations, it’s clear to see why we often feel overwhelmed and anxious.

That’s why a good life coach is so important. We often get so ingrained and set in our ways that it’s hard to see things from a fresh perspective. It’s difficult to fathom and digest the possibilities that exist out there in the world when we’re so used to operating within what we’ve deemed “safe” for so long.

In today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser I’m going to dig deep & discuss this topic with my guest, Meredith Styer Jacks. Meredith is a former coaching client and participant in an Emotional Intelligence and Leadership Effectiveness training class I teach. She surprised me with some of her answers for why coaching was so transformational in this engaging interview. You’re going to love it!

 What you will discover:

- Does coaching really work?

- Are there tangible results when you get coached?

- What does coaching with me look like?

A Peek into the Subconscious. An Interview with Emily McGill

Have you ever had your tarot cards read?

Tarot, like astrology, numerology, and palmistry, is an often-used form of divination, but it's a frequently misunderstood one. Each card has its own particular meaning, but these have more to do with tapping into the subconscious and using imagery that is meaningful to all of us rather than attempting to harness supernatural forces.

The Subconscious plays a vital role in card reading. From the moment the querent decides to have a reading the Subconscious comes into play. Deep within the subconscious lie the answers and solutions to all our questions and issues. And yes, there are cards where the symbols seem to indicate death and disaster, but they may mean nothing more than significant changes ahead or decisions needing to be made.

In today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser I’m going to dig deep & discuss this topic with my guest, Emily McGill. Emily is a spiritual seeker, tarot reader, storytelling strategist, and a deep believer in the power of community. After nearly a decade and a half working in entertainment in New York City as a Broadway and entertainment publicist and communications consultant, her path of self-exploration led to healing and evolution - and reading tarot cards professionally.

 What you will discover:

- What are Tarot Cards?

- How do tarot cards read your subconscious mind?

- How is your subconscious protecting you?

Say Yes to You

How many times in a day do you say yes to others and not to yourself?

At times in our life, we struggle with the fact that we focus too much about others happiness, putting others needs and concerns before ours.

It is the beginning of losing our sense of worth and authenticity and undervaluing ourselves. It’s exhausting and we can’t live that way forever.

When we start saying yes to ourselves and putting ourselves first it’s not selfishness, It's actually the opposite. Saying Yes to You is actually a healthy act of self-respect.

Today am sharing some examples and real life experiences in context to our today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser, and I’m gonna also dig deeper and answer some very important questions:

- How crucial is saying yes to you and why?
- How to change from people pleasing and ignoring yourself to saying yes to you?

And I’m also so excited to share my new group coaching program with you guys today and we will discuss that more in depth as well.

For quick access to the new group coaching program I’m hosting you can get all the deets and register here:

Authentic or Conditioned?

Belief systems are the bases of people’s worldviews. We have beliefs grounded in fact, and beliefs grounded in emotion and life experience. These belief systems shape our world view.

Many of our beliefs were ingrained in us as children, from our parents and other influential adults. In most cases, these beliefs serve us well until a certain point. But after that point, some beliefs become limiting and perhaps even damaging.

What if this belief, that you picked up a long time ago, that has been encouraged by society, family or/and friends, is actually a conditioned way of believing and you have accepted it for so long it feels like your truth?

Today am sharing some examples and real life experiences in context to our today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser, and I’m gonna also dig deeper and answer some very important questions:

- How to know if the belief you have for yourself is Authentic or a conditioned one?

- How to break through a belief that you've been thinking it's who you are?

Divergent thinking and access to creative problem solving

So, what is creative Divergent thinking? Divergent thinking is a thought process or method used to generate creative ideas by exploring many possible solutions.

The goal of divergent thinking is to generate many different ideas about a topic in a short period of time. Following divergent thinking, the ideas and information will be organized using convergent thinking; i.e., putting the various ideas back together in some organized, structured way. You can use divergent thinking activities as quick warm-ups to activate creativity or as a brain-break in the middle of a more analytical task.

In today’s episode of Liberate Your People Pleaser I’m going to dig deep on this topic with my guest,Bella Englebach. Bella Englebach has been applying divergent thinking to operations and R&D for over fifteen years. Trained as a scientist, she helps people to see that the heart of “lean” improvement is the scientific method. She works with leaders and managers to create environments where problems can be seen, innovative solutions can be discovered and tested, and people can truly drive improvement.

What you will discover:

- What is Divergent thinking, and how to access it?

- How do we start to lose our creativity?

- What is the difference between divergent thinking & conversion thinking ?

- Why getting attached to Ideas is dangerous?

How to Ask for What You Need

It can be amazingly difficult to ask for what we need.

There may be some topics or with certain people, that it’s easy, but for most of us, it feels more complicated.

If we’re pretty sure the person isn’t going to want to give us what we ask for, we might get triggered into anger, or overly justifying and rationalizing why we are asking.

In today’s Liberate Your People Pleaser  episode, I’ll break down how to ask for what you need in a way that is compelling and simple.

There’s no better skill to start the new year with!
